ADAM MURBY is a
Magician, Producer, Consultant and Performer
based in Perth, Western Australia.
Over the past 20 years, Adam has created and performed magic on stage and screen all over the world. He first got started in magic by his great-grandmother who showed him his first magic trick while growing up on a farm in Sweden. After moving to Australia at the age of 10 years old, he performed his first professionally paid show for $5, which to this day is still framed.
Fast-tracking to 2010, Adam (with his sister Selina) became Grand-Finalist on Australia's Got Talent, and by 2012 were the headline act for the 100th Anniversary of Calgary Stampede in Canada billed as the "Greatest Outdoor Show On Earth". In 2013, Adam & Selina became the first ever magicians to perform a live public magic/illusion show in Qatar, which was endorsed by the Royal Family and sold over 10,000 tickets in the first week.
Prior to that, Adam has received numerous awards by the Magicians Society. He has been awarded the prestigious 'Magician Of The Year' in 2006, 2007 and 2010, Australian Close-up Champion in 2007, Australian Magic Slam Champion Judges Award & Audience Award in 2008 and became Grand Finalist on Channel 7's Australia's Got Talent in 2010 with Selina.
As a UK/Swedish/Australian performing magician, producer, and consultant, Adam has raptured audiences around the world. He has performed in over 18 countries and across 4 continents on luxury cruise-ships, headlined in self-titled international tours and the featured entertainment at many of the world's premier events including the Playboy Mansion's Halloween Party in Beverly Hills and Maxim Top 100 Parties in Los Angeles.
After touring the US and living in Las Vegas for 6 months, Adam returned back to Australia and began a sold-out run of a show titled 'Adam & Selina - The Magicians' every fortnight at the Sonar Room in Fremantle.
In 2018, Adam and Selina were the feature performers and magic consultants for Channel 7's Telethon, Western Australia's largest 26 hour live televised fundraising event raising funds to ensure a better life for children in WA. Adam created interactive magic for TV for viewers at home, magic on stage for the live audience and special magic for the Little Telethon Stars to perform. As if by magic over 38 million was raised for Telethon 2018, breaking the magical $300 million milestone for the 51-year-old event.
Most recently, Adam and Selina launched Magic School in Australia, an organisation dedicated to teaching children and adults the art of magic. The core focus is to use magic as an instrument to help build and boost self-confidence, inspire creativity, improve physical dexterity, increase mental focus and self-discipline.
